we went to a cute little local bar called foxtrot for dinner tonight (delicious tomato, basil & bocconcini pizza). unfortunately the upstairs outside part was closed for a 30th (selfish) but downstairs is just as atmospheric - feels like a cosy living room. if you live in the area go visit, totes worth it

2 DIY: dress ups

chair and i spent the morning playing dress ups at kate's shop fig. i thought i had finally chosen a fabric (which was different from the look i had firmly in my mind) but when i got home i decided i wasn't feeling my choice and that the look i had my heart set on in the beginning was still what i wanted, so, back to the drawing board. i did find a couple of amazing prints on the internet that kate will hopefully be able to source for me. watch this space...

2 my place: sea of pillows

i forgot to do an update post on my new sea of cushions after this post. Magda from in residence got them made for me and they are so perfect and stuffed and choppable i love them! J thinks our bed is like cribs now and finds it annoying to make, but i catch him karate chopping the pillows ALL the time so he can't hate it that much...

remember when i was on the hunt for a bed head? well, i found an absolute beauty - the tribecca from bed nest. bed nest has so many styles, sizes and fabrics to choose from it makes it quite difficult to fall in love with just one (but i did). i love the idea of a bed head that has sides, i imagine it would make me feel more tucked in at night. perhaps if i keep my fingers and toes crossed really tightly i'll get lucky

9 glossybox number three

ok, so third glossybox arrived, did it make the cut? here's what i got: a nivea rich nourishing body moisturiser (travel size), sheer cover nourishing moisturiser spf 15+ (travel size), sheer cover lip gloss in pink praline (full size), estee lauder advanced night repair synchronised recovery complex (travel size), sally hansen insta dry fast dry nail colour in petal pusher (full size) and (drum roll)..........some australia day temporary tattoos. i am not joking and i nearly died when i saw them. why do it glossy box!?! anyway, it was a pretty good box, i will probably use all the products (especially those tattoos tomorrow - watch out)

despite these, i am staying for another box...

3 sucker for packaging

after seeing a movie the other day (young adult, it's really good) i popped down to check out the new japanese store that sells everything for $2.80 - EVERYTHING. i love japanese packaging and these were 3 excellent specimens. who knows what they do, as long as they brighten up my cupboard!

these bad boys just arrived from ebay for le wedding. how am i going to resist burning them? well this one will certainly tide me over, plus i got a new tocca stella from serin cini that's burning NOW. and i just finished this one...

2 the one that got away?

it may not look that great here but the second i saw it i wanted it. white and shiny - tick, geometric - tick, but do i need another chair? and do i want to pay a price it's NOT worth? or is it worth it because i love it so much?! ahh so many questions and i probably only have about 24 hours until it's gone if it's not already...i just thought of one more pro - how good will it look with my little moon rock!

3 my place: fridge

a small snippet of my fridge door. i wanted to share my friends zoie and mike's save the date card, it's SO them and so attractive, i can't wait for may! (i will be an old married lady by then) i always thought it was ugly to put stuff on the fridge (it probably still is) but it's so freakin' handy to have reminders and invites right there. i treat ours like a calendar which is good if you want le partner to remember things. and don't you love my neon pink origami kangaroo? (so weird, i do not know where i found that one)

i found the spiky delicacies on my evening walk last night (dead, dried agapanthus) and the little gold rimmed bowl was from goodwill. i also found some glass cloches in the same store and only paid $10! score...

5 le livres

this book of skulls arrived via amazon today. i bought it after seeing it at my friend Bec's place and reading that some of wes lang's work was in it

when i was out shopping with mum for her wedding outfit we had a peruse in miu miu (i wanted to try on the noir sunglasses, i LOVE them) i also spied my original dream wedding shoes on sale, still not in my size, luckily there wasn't some secret batch that came AFTER i bought my shoes to make me feel even worse about it

and FINALLY, i got my hands on the september issue for a price that i am not embarassed about! sure it has some wear and tear, but what good magazine doesn't? so thrilled i can stop recieving ebay alerts for issues that cost $400...

9 urchins

i have very shallow goals, one of these goals is to have a bowl full of urchins (thanks balletflats!), and a bathroom big enough to accommodate them. does anyone else share this desire? it would also be preferable to have a big fat wodge of coral there too. thanks vanessa for the inspiration!

0 another job done

i went shopping in the city today and found what i will be wearing over my wedding dress if it's freezing/snowing. i found it at sass and bide and it is surprisingly (for them) super simple. i have yet to try it on with the dress and i also want to try the other one i had ordered in on before i make my final decision. so pleased i am done on the outfit front so early. now we just have to find THE PERFECT suit for beloved to go with his PERFECT shoes.

i loved this shoot by mario sorrenti for the november issue of vogue paris. i don't always like emmanuelle's stuff but this one is a winner. i think i love it so much because its all denim and knits, all cotton, which is the only fabric i can stand to have on my body. i love the rips and tears and the shots of pink, bracelets piled on and mussed up blonde hair. i wish it was winter now!

1 day in the life

thankfully i found these photos i had been looking for, my paternal grandma and grandpa (connie and bill). i never met connie, she died when dad was a teenager and grandpa bill died a few years ago. dad couldn't find ONE photo of their wedding but there were quite a few of these shot by street photographers in the 1930's - and i am SO thrilled i have them to use in my wedding. we now have photos of all grandparents on both sides apart form mums parents so fingers crossed someone has one of them together!

shoes secured! these were IRRESISTIBLE and very me. in other news, i also found something to wear over the dress, it had to be ordered in from melbourne and will arrive on tuesday, hope it works. i also did a hair trial today which worked really well (my hairdresser is, fortunately for me, a guest at my wedding so she will be in NZ with me!)

i may have also found some rather delicious silky cape-y shirt-y lover confection in my travels today. it was on sale so it's ok and doesn't count

and finally, i got my menu's to the printers. we are using the distillery letterpress who are just down the road from me and do AMAZING work. i have made some changes to the menu and i am so excited to see it all come together. only 10 weeks to go today!
